Aura Mayari

Aura Mayari is a Filipino-American drag performer born in the Philippines, raised in Chicago, and now based in Nashville, Tennessee. She competed on Season 15 of RuPaul's Drag Race, where she won the season's girl-group maxi challenge and ultimately placed eleventh overall, going home in Episode 7 after a lip sync against Jax. Her drag name pulls directly from her heritage: 'Aura' is a Philippine gay-lingo term used for someone who is overacting, overly confident, flirty, or otherwise living too loud, while 'Mayari' is drawn from Kapampangan mythology, the goddess of the moon.
