CRIMSYN

Crimsyn — usually stylized CRIMSYN and led by artist CRIMSYN — is a drag and transformation artist based in the DMV (Washington DC / Maryland / Northern Virginia). She won the first season of Painted With Raven, Raven's makeup-focused competition series, on the strength of extremely painterly, character-heavy face work that reads more like sculpture than glamour. Crimsyn describes what she does as 'transformation' rather than strictly 'drag,' because gender is only one of many things she's playing with when she paints — the work spans monsters, aliens, dolls and abstract creatures as often as it hits femme presentation.
