Helena Poison

Helena Poison is Toronto's reigning emo queen, a designer, prosthetics-savvy makeup artist, and DIY-everything performer whose drag name stitches together two My Chemical Romance songs, 'Helena' and 'Party Poison.' Originally from St. Catharines, Ontario, she came up as a makeup artist first, chasing more theatrical territory than beauty counters allowed, and started performing in 2014. She competed on the fifth season of Canada's Drag Race and had a standout run: she won a main challenge, never once landed in the bottom, and finished among the top four, memorably performing her single 'Poison' on the show and impersonating Jennifer Tilly on Snatch Game. Between weekday shows in Toronto and weekend touring dates, she's built a following that responds to her bold, DIY aesthetic and the same MCR-era romanticism that named her.
