La Briochée

La Briochée, whose real name is La Briochée, is a French drag queen who made franchise history as the first transgender woman to compete on Drag Race France. Contrary to the way she is sometimes filed, she appeared on Season 1 of the show — not Season 2 — where she was eliminated in Episode 3 and finished sixth. That short run belied a long working career in French drag and cabaret, and it opened the door for the broader trans representation the French franchise has since expanded on. Since her season she has continued to tour, appear at Pride events across France, and speak publicly about the importance of trans visibility.
