Marta Beatchu is a Los Angeles-based drag queen who is unapologetically, joyfully Peruvian — her stage name is a direct play on Machu Picchu, the 15th-century Inca site, and doubles as a tribute to her parents' homeland. Out of drag she is Alberto Davila Jr., 'Alby' to friends, and in drag she is one of the busiest working queens in West Hollywood and greater Los Angeles. Her regular circuit reads like a WeHo greatest-hits list: Micky's, The Abbey, Flaming Saddles, Hamburger Mary's, Rockwell, and the Bang Bang Room Downtown. Marta leans into Latine identity in her performance work with numbers like 'My Peruvian Sisters' and 'A Boricua Anthem,' and has become a recognizable face in Los Angeles' Latine drag scene.
