Powderpuff Girls

The Powerpuff Girls is an American superhero animated television series created by Craig McCracken and produced by Hanna-Barbera (later Cartoon Network Studios) for Cartoon Network. It originally aired from November 18, 1998 to March 25, 2005 across 78 episodes and became one of the definitive Cartoon Network shows of its era. The premise: Professor Utonium accidentally creates three kindergarten-aged superhero girls - Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup - by mixing sugar, spice, and everything nice with a mysterious substance called Chemical X. Its bold graphic-shape design, punk-adjacent energy, and unapologetically femme-coded action heroines have made it a lasting fashion, art, and merchandise reference - especially strong in queer and drag culture.
